NLP is the study of how neural physiology and thoughts affect each other. Ever heard a song that you haven't heard in years, or smelled an aroma, or seen an old photo that instantly causes you to vividly recall an experience or feel an emotion you haven't felt in ages? These are mental anchors rooted in subconscious impressions that are triggered by physical stimuli. You are anchored to everything in your environmet based on the type and level of emotion you have toward a particular thing. Unknown anchors and triggers in your environment could trigger emotions that are not advantageous to the situation. Understanding anchoring is a big step toward total emotional control.
