Climate Change

     Is it the end of the world? Are we going to roast? What the hell is going on anyway? These are all excellent questions for businessmen to be asking themselves years ago. What business are you in? Lawyer? Real estate tycoon? Do you dig ditches by hand for a living? If you're in any of the above three businesses and you can't give an answer that you're willing to stake your business on, then you're all at the mercy of chance for your lot in life. Here's the reality fellas, if it's for real then it's going to affect your business and you'd better figure out how. If it's not for real then public opinion and reaction is going to affect your business and you'd better figure out how. This sounds difficult. It's not when you think like an elite.

     Nothing is more valuable than the right information. Stupid decisions seem to occur less frequently when people have the right information. The subject of climate change is very controversial right now. A lot of spin and agenda from all sides are playing into the issue. The word "fact" seems to get thrown around pretty loosely. The reality is that everyone on both sides has the same facts, but the purpose of interest groups is to bring facts to focus that support their view. Ethical interest groups change their position when the whole truth demands it. Unethical groups merely bring focus to the facts that support their view regardless of how it affects everyone else. How many people in these groups do you know well enough to trust them to be alone with your children? If you don't have the right information they will determine your children's future.

     The best capitalists find the right information quickly by understanding fundamentals about important issues and asking the right questions. Understanding fundamentals can be done quickly by looking at the primary supporting premises of two opposing viewpoints. Excellent questions: "How could this person/group promoting this fact stand to benefit by promoting it? Why are they choosing to ignore these other facts? What do they stand to lose if they are proven wrong? This kind of information allows you to get an idea of things like motives, strengths, and probabilities. This is the kind of information accurate predictions and brilliant strategies are born of.

     Climate change is occurring. It always has and always will. Climate change will be a tremendous opportunity that will create hundreds of trillions of dollars of wealth over the next century for those who are poised to take advantage of it.
